Black Excellence, Up Close
2/6/20261 min read

Black History Month is often framed around legacy names and important monuments. Today as we welcome the first Friday of Black History Month, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the people whose brilliance, creativity, courage, discipline and generosity helped spark The Grandeur Journal. These individuals are leaders, community builders, storytellers, visionaries and everyday revolutionaries.
This post is a tribute to those who have shaped my journey and continue to influence me and others whether through mentorship, innovation, or by showing up authentically every single day.
They embody the essence of Black excellence.
Each spotlight below is just a glimpse into their impact, with links to connect, support and follow their journey.
