New Year Energy

How to align yourself with what truly matters in 2026

3 min read

I hope you are feeling this excitement, sensation but not using it against yourself. In the beginning of the year, there's so much momentum. We're ushered into a whole New Year of endless possibilities. The New Year hype is always the same, everywhere you look it’s,

“New Year, New me!”, “This will be my best year yet!”

We tend to think progress looks like big wins or overnight success. You know the, “New Year, New Me” energy. What I’ve noticed is the real shifts, the ones that actually change our lives or change us, happen quietly. They come when we start responding differently to everyday moments, when we stop forcing things. When we choose something better, even slightly, in the middle of unfamiliarity.

2026 doesn’t need to be your “best year yet.” It doesn’t have to come with dramatic changes or huge milestones. It can be a year that feels more aligned and fulfilling simply because you chose to stop chasing things that no longer fit who you are. It could be the year you finally decide to bring to life the things you once labeled as, “someday” goals. Or the year you stop saying yes to things that actually drain you.

Stop waiting for perfection before making your move.

Especially now, we are in the middle of winter, both literally and energetically. This time of year is naturally slower. It’s a season of rest, not rushing, it’s for clearing out, not forcing forward. You don’t need to justify why something isn’t right for you anymore.

“I’m done with this” is a valid reason to let something go.

You might feel frustrated or tired of the same old patterns. Sometimes holding space for both the irritation and the quiet knowing that you’re still on the right track is enough.

Growth can look like choosing differently, even in small ways.

One of the most powerful changes you can make is learning to say no to what’s no longer serving you. Every time you say yes to something half felt, you’re draining your energy. A clear, respectful “no” creates room for what you actually want to say yes to. When you operate with self respect and boundaries, life tends to align more naturally. You stop forcing your way into rooms and you start attracting what actually fits for you.

If you’re someone who often overcommits, people pleases, or stays too long in situations that no longer work, this might be the time to practice saying no with confidence. But if you tend to cut people off or quit things too fast, your growth might look more like sticking with it a little longer. Self awareness is key.

Over the holidays, I spent time overthinking where to focus, social media, a newsletter, a new creative project. The mind wants a strategy but sometimes what worked before just isn’t working anymore. This is a moment to shift from performance to presence. To let your inner compass lead you instead of relying only on what worked for someone else.

Action rooted in authenticity will always take you further than action based on pressure, perfectionism, or metrics ever will.

Your Grandeur Journal Prompt

The question isn’t, “What should I do?” but “What feels true to me?”

What do I actually want from this? Not just in metrics or success but in quality of everyday life.

This year isn’t about it being the best. year, it’s about being present and true to yourself. For 2026, I’ve been craving more peace, more freedom and more creativity. These are signs we’re on the right path, It just takes different choices in those quiet moments.

let’s rise - together
